Dr. Alarcon was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and immigrated to the US in 1975 together with her 6 siblings. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Zoology and a Minor Degree in Spanish Literature from California State University Long Beach. She obtained her DDS from CASE School of Dental Medicine in 1989 and continued with a General Practice Residency at the Veteran’s Administration in Los Angeles, which emphasized the care of the medically compromised patient.
All throughout her undergraduate studies at CSULB she dedicated a good portion of her time to community outreach volunteer programs, in particular working with youth and underprivileged. As a dental student in Case School of Dental Medicine she provided dental care during the evenings at the Cleveland Free Clinic.
One of Dr. Alarcon’s missions has been to help improve the oral health of the Latino community through education. She is an accomplished radio host who has had her own talk show in dental education in different Spanish radio stations throughout Los Angeles. She has been a regular contributor to different Spanish magazines amongst: La Opinion, Contacto Magazine, Mi Doctor Magazine, and others. Another mission is to promote the world of Dentistry among youth and encourage students to consider it as a profession. She has been a key speaker at elementary and middle schools motivating students about how Dentistry can be an accessible profession for all students, regardless of their ethnicity and upbringing.
In 2010 she joined the innovative Western University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine where she has been involved in numerous activities ranging from teaching preclinical courses in restorative dentistry, diagnosis and treatment planning. Dr. Alarcon is a Clinical Managing Partner directing the clinical education and training of third and fourth year students of the College of Dental Medicine. Dr. Alarcon is also involved in the Community Dentistry curriculum. She has been involved with students in the Laborer’s Screening Activities, CARE LA and Special Olympic World Games in Los Angeles.
When not engaged in teaching or practicing dentistry in her office, Dr. Alarcon enjoys traveling, water sports and photography.
Dr. Nazco was born in Santa Clara, Cuba and arrived to the US in the mid 80’s with the Mariel boat lift. Dr. Nazco completed her undergraduate studies at the St. Thomas University in Florida in Chemistry with a Minor in Biology.
She graduated from CASE School of Dental Medicine in 1990 and until recently had been practicing full time in Cleveland Ohio as CEO of Modelo Dental Care, INC.
Since 1991 she has been providing excellent oral care to the community of the West Side in Cleveland. In 2010, Modelo Dental Care, Inc. relocated to the city of Lakewood, Ohio.
Dr. Nazco is well known in the city of Cleveland and in 2010 she was awarded the Hispanic Award Achievement.
Dr. Nazco relocated to Southern California in 2013 and practices in Artisan Dental Group in Cudahy, California as well as in Modelo Dental Care in Lakewood, Ohio.
Dr. Nazco is a cancer survivor and on her free time she enjoys traveling, dancing and spending quality time with family and friends.
After many years of practicing as a Hygienist, Dr. Torres graduated from Western University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine in 2014.
