Dr. Bertha O. Alarcón attended renowned Case Western Reserve School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. She obtained her post-grad training residency at the VA Medical Administrator’s Center in Los Angeles, CA (a UCLA affiliate).

Dr. Bertha O. Alarcón has always been deeply involved in the community. She has served as the President of the Latin American Dental Association for several years and was one of the key players who established a free dental clinic in Los Angeles that serves the underprivileged community. She is also an active member of the California Dental Association, the Los Angeles Dental Society and the American Dental Association. She is one among the few dentists in Los Angeles to have a radio show on a top Hispanic Talk Station (Radio 1020AM) and is a frequent column writer for La Opinion – Los Angeles’ major Spanish-language newspaper. Both her talk show and newspaper column offer information regarding oral health and the importance of prevention of diseases that affect not only our oral health but our overall health.
